High-energy rock and roll with a classic punk edge describes The Sirens, an all-female group from the Washington, DC area and multiple WAMMIE Award nominees. Influenced by such old school punks as The Ramones, The Clash, Joan Jett, and Blondie, The Sirens have achieved a no-nonsense sound all their own.

The Sirens were formed in 2002 with each member coming from different bands, backgrounds and influences. The Sirens, members of the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), have shared the stage with a diverse mix of local, regional and national artistsranging from GRAMMY nominee, Lisa Loeb, to punk rockers, The Misfits (Jerry Only, Dez of Black Flag and Marky Ramone of The Ramones). The Sirens have played to a large, dedicated and growing fan base stretching along the eastern United States from New York to Florida to Ohio. If you've ever been to a Sirens show, then you've heard crowds chanting to The Sirens' "Girls Wanna Rock" … and The Sirens do rock!

In 2003, The Sirens released their debut CD "Bad Girls." Baltimore-Washington's Music Monthly said "… you should get [the CD] just to have it…Their music destroys and strokes in simultaneity…" Cincinnati CitiBeat remarked that "listening to Bad Girls fondly recalls multiple generations of female-fueled bands, from the rough-shod power of The Runaways, to early-period Blondie to smoother L7. "A sense of humor only adds to the allure…" The Washington Post noted "'Girls Wanna Rock.' It's a song on the 2003 CD "Bad Girls," from Northern Virginia's all-female group The Sirens, but it's also quite obviously the band's motto…"

The CD and The Sirens garnered nominations from the Washington Area Music Association for best Debut Recording, Rock Recording and New Artist. Tracks from the CD also received airplay on multiple commercial radio stations and the band was featured on several on-air interviews.

In 2005, The Sirens experienced their first line-up change. Joining founding members Cindy Chambers (Guitar and vocals), Melissa Duncan (Lead vocals and percussion) and Kristin Gray (Bass and vocals) is Kaeri Johnson (Drums). The Sirens are currently working on material for their second CD and continue to rock audiences throughout the eastern United States.
